Cadence Skill
Connect it once.
The Cadence read inside the AI your team already uses. One link, pasted once, and your strategists can ask in plain language and get the figure with its receipt. The Skill comes with a subscription. Your connection covers all eleven markets and the European control room, scoped to what you hold, and always reflects the published quarter. It is not part of a single report: a report is a document you keep, the Skill is hosted compute that answers against the current edition.
With a subscription: before you start
You need two minutes and an account with a subscription on it.
Your access key lives on your Account page, under Cadence Skill. Sign in with the email you bought with and we will send you a sign-in link; there is no password to remember. The page also offers a ready-made link with the key already in it, for clients that take only a URL — but if your client accepts headers, use the key on its own.
Treat your access key like a password. Put the key in a request header, not in the URL. A URL carrying a key ends up in browser history, screenshots, support tickets and pasted messages; a header does not, and Claude stores it where it cannot be read back. Anyone holding it can read everything you hold. Do not paste it into a shared document or a ticket. If it does get out, tell us and we will issue a new one and retire the old.
In Claude
Desktop or browser, and on any plan that offers connectors.
- 01 Copy your access key
Open your Account page and copy the access key under Cadence Skill. Sign in with the email you bought with; there is no password.
- 02 Open the connector settings
In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. This is the same in Claude Desktop and in the browser.
- 03 Paste the endpoint
Put
https://skill.knowwhatsloved.com/mcpin the URL field. Leave authentication on No sign-in — Cadence uses an access key, not OAuth, and Claude usually detects this. - 04 Add the key as a request header
Open Request headers and add
X-Api-Keywith your access key as the value. Claude stores it securely and never shows it again, which is why this is better than putting it in the URL. - 05 Save, then ask it something
Claude shows cadence in your connector list once it has handshaked. Start a new conversation and ask in plain language; Claude decides when to call Cadence, so you never name the tool.
In ChatGPT
Same endpoint, same key. It works the same way as Claude.
ChatGPT can add Cadence as a custom connector. Settings → Connectors → Add custom
connector, then the same endpoint and the same X-Api-Key header as above.
Your key stays yours; nobody else inherits your markets.
One difference worth knowing: ChatGPT does not receive the connect-time instructions Claude does, so it is more likely to answer a Cadence question from the open web without saying so. Ask it where a figure came from if it matters.
Anything else
Cadence speaks Model Context Protocol, so any MCP-aware client can reach it.
https://skill.knowwhatsloved.com/mcpX-Api-Key: your-access-key
A Bearer token works too. A ?key= query parameter also works, for
clients that accept only a URL and offer nowhere to put a header — but prefer the header
wherever the client allows one, because a URL carrying a key travels into places a header
does not. There is a REST surface at /v1/ for anything that does not speak MCP,
and a request with no key is refused with a 401, exactly as a wrong one is — the
Skill never quietly answers with less than you asked for.
What to ask first
Plain language. You never need to name a tool or learn a syntax.
- Brief me on France this quarter.
- Which markets changed position this quarter, and which held?
- Where did search attention rise with no matching advertising?
- Compare France and Spain on domestic share of chart.
- Show me the biggest movers in automotive.
What it can and cannot answer
The Skill states this itself when you ask it something out of scope, rather than filling the gap quietly.
- Eurostat macro: consumer confidence, savings intent, major-purchase intent, unemployment, HICP inflation
- Which brands Cadence observes per market and sector, with their advertising activity
- Live advertising load (Google Ads Transparency)
- The music layer: domestic-repertoire share, genre mix and chart position
- Media-narrative salience by theme (GDELT)
- Sales, revenue, market share or units
- Conversion, footfall, customer counts or account openings
- Pricing or promotional depth
- Social-media listening or survey-stated attitudes
- Anything about a future period
Cadence is a read, not a forecast. It describes how a market behaves now, with a public source under every figure. It does not predict demand, and we publish the tests that led us to say so.
If something looks wrong
- Claude says it cannot find the connector
- The link was probably pasted without its key, or only part of it was copied. Copy it again from the Account page using the copy button rather than selecting by hand, and check it ends with
?key=followed by a long string. - It answers about France but not the market I bought
- Ask it “which markets can you see?”. France is readable on every valid connection because the French edition is open to everyone, so seeing France alone means the rest of your access has not attached. Send us the reply and we will look.
- It gives a figure without a source
- It should not, and we would like to know. Every Cadence figure carries a receipt, and anything from outside Cadence is labelled as such with its source and date. Ask “where did that come from?” and send us the answer.
- It will not answer about next quarter
- That is correct behaviour rather than a fault. Cadence publishes a quarter at a time and the Skill only holds the published one. It is a read, not a forecast.
Still stuck? Talk to us. Tell us which assistant you are using and paste the reply you got, including anything that looked wrong. That is usually enough for us to spot it.
